Home Republicans will forge forward with steps to question Secretary of Homeland Safety Alejandro Mayorkas, a GOP supply tells CNN.

The Division of Homeland Safety reacted to the information on Wednesday, with spokesperson Mia Ehrenberg saying in a press release, “The Home majority is losing worthwhile time and taxpayer {dollars} pursuing a baseless political train that has been rejected by members of each events and already failed on a bipartisan vote.”

The most recent improvement comes after the Home voted in November to refer a decision to question Mayorkas to the Homeland Safety Committee in a 209-201 vote, with eight Republicans voting with Democrats.

GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia filed a privileged decision to question Mayorkas in November, forcing GOP management to schedule ground motion on the measure.

Since retaking the Home majority, Republicans have lengthy sought to question Mayorkas over his dealing with of the Division of Homeland Safety and the US border with Mexico.
