Vice President Kamala Harris on Saturday accepted an invite from CNN to debate former President Donald Trump on October 23, difficult her rival to a different engagement on a public stage within the closing weeks of the marketing campaign.
“Vice President Harris is prepared for one more alternative to share a stage with Donald Trump,” marketing campaign chair Jen O’Malley Dillon stated in an announcement. “Donald Trump shouldn’t have any downside agreeing to this debate.”
Harris tweeted Saturday that she “will gladly settle for a second presidential debate” and that she hopes Trump “will be part of” her on October 23.
