Microsoft “accepts duty for every one” of the problems cited in a scathing US government-backed report on the tech big’s cybersecurity failings, Microsoft President Brad Smith will inform US lawmakers Thursday, based on his ready testimony.
“We acknowledge that we will and should do higher, and we apologize and specific our deepest regrets to those that have been impacted,” reads Smith’s testimony to the Home Homeland Safety Committee. He’s set to testify earlier than the panel Thursday afternoon in a listening to the committee says will assess the impression of Microsoft’s “cybersecurity shortfalls” on homeland safety.
Microsoft has been on the heart of two sweeping hacking campaigns within the final yr allegedly carried out by Chinese language and Russian spies.
