Southwest flight: Passenger, flight attendant injured during severe turbulence

Two folks have been injured when a Southwest Airways flight encountered extreme turbulence on Wednesday morning and needed to make an emergency touchdown in Tampa, Florida, in keeping with a spokesperson for Tampa Worldwide Airport.

Southwest Flight 4273 was touring from New Orleans to Orlando when the captain declared an emergency after experiencing turbulence aboard the Boeing 737 jet, the airline stated in an announcement.

“The Captain declared an emergency, a requirement to deviate from a filed flight plan, and in addition requested that paramedics be accessible when the plane arrived to evaluate any potential damage,” the assertion stated.

A passenger and a flight attendant have been transported to a Tampa space medical facility, the airline added.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the incident, a spokesperson instructed CNN.

In accordance with CNN Climate, storms that introduced severe weather from the Ohio Valley to the Deep South on Tuesday have been draped over the Gulf of Mexico this morning, inflicting robust thunderstorms within the space.
