Queen Victoria: Nearly 140 people on cruise ship sickened with gastrointestinal illness

Greater than 100 passengers and crew have fallen unwell whereas on a three-week leg of a 107-night cruise with Cunard Cruise Line on the Queen Victoria, in line with a report from the US Facilities for Illness Management and Prevention.

In line with the report, 139 individuals on board – 123 passengers and 16 crew members – have reported gastrointestinal signs that embrace diarrhea and vomiting.

The cruise line has elevated cleansing and disinfection procedures and remoted unwell passengers and crew, in line with the report.

The reason for the sickness shouldn’t be recognized, in line with the CDC’s report.

The Queen Victoria is on a 107-night crusing that began in Southhampton, England, on January 11. This a part of the voyage set sail from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on January 22 with stops in Aruba, Guatemala, Cabo San Lucas, San Francisco and Hawaii, ending on February 12, in line with Cunard’s website.

A complete of 1,824 passengers and 967 crew members are on board.

In an announcement to CNN, Cunard Cruise Line mentioned, “Cunard confirms {that a} small variety of company had reported signs of gastrointestinal sickness on board Queen Victoria.  They instantly activated their enhanced well being and security protocols to make sure the wellbeing of all company and crew on board. Measures have been efficient.”
