Ariana Grande launched her newest single and music video, titled “Sure, And?” on Friday, and we’re getting a definite message from the Grammy winner.
Within the Christian Breslauer-directed video, Grande faces a bunch of jaded critics who sit and watch her carry out together with her dancers. Previous to the efficiency, they’re all seen and heard gossiping about her, saying issues like how they most well-liked the singer when her ponytail was “just a few centimeters larger.”
Contained in the loft-like house, the critics are met with statues of Grande and her dancers. Grande then enters in a hat (sounding so much like Madonna in “Vogue”) to sing and dance for the viewers.
Lyrics to the catchy music embody not-so-subtle nods to gossip about her within the basic media and on social media platforms: “now i’m so finished with caring what you suppose/ no i gained’t cover beneath your personal projections or change my most genuine life/ boy come on put your lipstick on/ (nobody can inform you nothing).”
Grande goes on to sing slightly pointedly that she’s now “defending her time” and power, saying, “don’t touch upon my physique, don’t reply/ your corporation is yours and mine is mine.”
The music is the primary single off her forthcoming seventh album, which might be named “Everlasting Sunshine.”
In September, Grande filed for divorce from Dalton Gomez, her husband of two years, citing “irreconcilable variations.”
The singer and actress can be set to star as Glinda within the upcoming movie model of the Broadway musical “Depraved,” reverse Cynthia Erivo.
